All branded Red Duck Knives (RDK) products, except for sheaths, are guaranteed against defects in workmanship and materials for the original owner’s life.

Whether you bought your knife from an authorized retailer or bought it directly from our consumer website, please provide a copy of the “proof of purchase” when submitting a warranty claim. If you do not have proof of purchase, please request one from either the retailer you purchased it from initially or contact our office for a receipt of your online purchase.

This guarantee is voided (as determined by RDK) by misuse, abuse, improper maintenance, or product alterations or disassembly. It does not cover any normal wear or tear while using the knife.  Also not warranted are the natural deformations and cracking that may occur in natural products such as bone, antler, horn, and wood due to exposure to moisture, light, temperature, and changes in humidity past 30 days from the purchase.

Using your RDK folding or fixed-blade or automatic knife for any purpose other than cutting or puncturing is considered abuse and will void your warranty. Using RDK axes, hatchets, and tracker knives for any purpose other than what they were specifically designed to perform is considered abuse and will void the warranty.

Warranty Claim

All guaranteed claims should be directed to the central U.S. office.  All claim shipments should be sent prepaid and insured. For international claims: call, write, or email RDK’s Service Department for information. We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages that do not arrive at our facility. RDK only replaces defective products. Repair of defective products is not offered. Defective discontinued products will be replaced with a gift certificate reflecting the original MSRP value, as determined by RDK, which can be used for a future purchase.

Examples of Non-Warranted Issues

  • Rusted/spotted/stained/scratched blades or handles (coated or not).
  • Broken or bent blades or tips.
  • Worn tool components.
  • Dull or chipped knife blades.
  • Worn/loose/deformed/cracked handle materials.
  • Lost thumb studs.
  • Leather sheaths in any condition.

Replacement of a Warranted Product

We recommend contacting our office for a realistic assessment of your knife before shipping to avoid unnecessary expenses and disappointment.

Please include a brief note inside your package stating:

  • A description of the product shipped.
  • The claimed defect and how the product failed.
  • Your full name, address, daytime phone number, and email address.
  • Indicate if your product has sentimental value. RDK is not responsible for lost or misplaced sentimental items at our facility. A good-faith effort will be made to return your item with your replacement product.

DO NOT ship your product in its original packaging (it will not be returned), a padded or regular paper envelope, or use popcorn foam.

Package your product securely in a shipping box.  Ensure the product cannot move or shift inside the package and that no loose blades or parts will fall out during shipping and receiving.

RDK covers the Return Shipping cost, except where the product is not considered defective.  In this case, the customer will be responsible for the return shipping.
